Last Updated: 10 months ago

Universitas Djuanda (UNIDA), in collaboration with Perguruan Amaliah, conducted an International Community Service (PkM) activity at SMA Islahiah in Yala, Southern Thailand. The event was accompanied by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Memorandum of Agreement (MoA), and Implementation Agreement (IA), as a strategic step to strengthen cross-border educational synergies.

The community service team consisted of a joint delegation, including graduate students from UNIDA’s Graduate School, faculty members from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) UNIDA, and lecturers from Fatoni University, who played a key role as facilitators of collaboration and cultural and academic bridges between Indonesia and the local community in Southern Thailand.

The main focus of this community service activity was the delivery of Integrated Character Education. The material emphasized the values within the 21 Character Values of Tauhid, which form the unique foundation of UNIDA, framed within the perspective of local wisdom values of the surrounding community.

Representing the UNIDA delegation, Dr. Hj. Rita Rahmawati, Dra., M.Si, Dean of FISIP UNIDA, stated that character education has become an urgent issue amid the current global dynamics.

"In this era of disruption, academic excellence alone is not enough. The world needs a generation that is intellectually brilliant and steadfast in character. This program is a tangible manifestation of the spirit of the Tauhid Campus in bringing benefits to others," she emphasized.

Dr. Hj. Rita Rahmawati, Dra., M.Si, further added that this activity reflects the implementation of UNIDA's Pancasila values, which include education, research, community service, tauhid (faith), and professionalism.

"Besides expanding international cooperation networks, this program also reinforces UNIDA's commitment to shaping young generations with noble character who contribute to the development of a civilized and inclusive global society," she concluded.
