Last Updated: 4 days ago

The Public Administration Study Program of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Djuanda University (UNIDA), welcomed the Head of the Bogor Regency Population and Civil Registration Office (Disdukcapil), Renaldi Yushab Fiansyah, S.Sos., as a guest practitioner in a Practitioner Teaching session entitled “Best Practices in Population Administration Services at the Bogor Regency Population and Civil Registration Office” on Monday (June 22, 2026).

The activity, which was part of the Local Government course, was attended by lecturers and students of the Public Administration Study Program. Through this program, students had the opportunity to gain direct insights from a government practitioner, enhancing their understanding of local governance and public service delivery, particularly in the field of population administration.

The Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of FISIP UNIDA, Dr. Saprudin, M.Si., stated that the Practitioner Teaching program represents a collaboration between academia and government practice, in line with the spirit of the Impactful Campus initiative.

“This Practitioner Teaching activity reflects FISIP UNIDA’s commitment to building an Impactful Campus ecosystem. The presence of experienced practitioners in the classroom is expected to broaden students’ perspectives and prepare them to become critical and adaptive future public administrators who can respond effectively to the dynamics of public service in local government,” he said.

According to him, empirical experiences shared directly by public officials help students understand bureaucratic challenges and dynamics that cannot always be fully captured through classroom theory.

A similar view was expressed by the Head of the Public Administration Study Program, Afmi Apriliani, S.Sos., M.A.P. She emphasized the strategic value of the program in supporting educational quality while contributing to the achievement of the university’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

“Public Administration students need empirical insights from policymakers to better understand the complexities of public service delivery. We hope that today’s presentation by the Head of Disdukcapil will stimulate critical thinking and inspire innovative ideas among students in addressing contemporary bureaucratic challenges,” Afmi said.

During his presentation, Renaldi explained that population administration serves as a crucial foundation for various public services. Population data functions as the primary reference for healthcare, education, social assistance, and banking services.

He noted that Bogor Regency faces significant challenges in providing population administration services due to its population of approximately 5.9 million residents, making it the most populous regency in Indonesia.

“Population administration is far more than a basic public service. It serves as the fundamental reference for virtually all other forms of public service. With Bogor Regency’s population reaching 5,948,925 people in 2025, we are required to continuously pursue transformation and innovation,” he explained.

To address these challenges, the Bogor Regency Population and Civil Registration Office has introduced various innovations, including strengthening digital-based services through the implementation of the Digital Population Identity (IKD) system and proactive outreach services that bring administrative assistance directly to communities.

“Through the integration of Digital Population Identity (IKD) and proactive outreach service innovations, we are committed to delivering public services that are fast, accessible, secure, and reliable,” he added.

The Practitioner Teaching activity is part of the implementation of the Impactful Campus program, which promotes stronger connections between higher education institutions and the professional world. In addition to providing students with more contextual learning experiences, the program also supports the achievement of Higher Education KPI 4, which focuses on practitioner involvement in the learning process.

The event concluded with an interactive discussion session. Students took the opportunity to explore topics related to public service transformation strategies, policy adaptation, and the governance of digital innovation implemented by the Bogor Regency Population and Civil Registration Office to improve service quality for the public.
