Carrying the theme "Vacation with Experience," the program offered more than just a field trip. Through this experience, participants acquired practical knowledge that complements the theories they have studied in the classroom.
Accompanying the students were Anisa Cikal Febrianti, S.I.Kom., M.A.P., Secretary of the Communication Science Study Program; Nadia Amalia, S.I.Kom., M.A.P., Head of the Communication Science Laboratory; and Acep Muhamad Rusman, S.I.Kom., M.I.Kom., lecturer and Head of the Public Relations, Protocol, and Marketing Bureau of UNIDA.
The delegation from the Communication Science Study Program was welcomed by the management team of Promedia Group, including Agil Hari Santoso, General Manager of Media Network; Rahmat Maulana, Chief Technology Officer (CTO); Andhika Thaselia, Media Advisor; along with the Promedia Group Bandung team.
In her welcoming remarks, Anisa Cikal Febrianti stated that the visit served as an important opportunity for students to observe how communication theories are applied in professional settings.
"This activity provides students with the opportunity to understand how communication theories are implemented in industry practices while giving them a realistic picture of the professional world," she said.
She also encouraged students to actively engage in discussions throughout the visit to gain valuable insights from industry practitioners.
Meanwhile, Rahmat Maulana expressed his appreciation for the visit. He emphasized that collaboration between academia and industry is a strategic step toward preparing human resources capable of adapting to the rapid development of media technology.
"We hope this visit provides added value that can be applied within the university environment while introducing Promedia's role in supporting Indonesia's digital media ecosystem," Rahmat said.
During the presentation session, Agil Hari Santoso discussed the growing importance of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) in the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI). He explained that today's content management strategies must evolve alongside the advancement of search engines and AI-powered platforms.
"Understanding SEO and GEO has become an essential skill, not only for media professionals but also for students across various disciplines. The logic behind SEO can be applied in many professional contexts," he explained.
The participants demonstrated great enthusiasm throughout the program. One of the students, Claravita Juliandra, shared that the visit provided valuable experiences beyond what could be learned in the classroom.
"This visit was truly memorable. We gained new insights through an interactive and enjoyable learning environment, which will become valuable preparation for our future," she said.
The industrial visit was part of the academic program organized by HIMAKOM UNIDA to bridge the gap between students and the professional industry. The event concluded with the presentation of a commemorative plaque as a token of appreciation, followed by a group photo session.
