MELAKA, January 28, 2026 – Continuing the series of activities under the Tridharma International Visit & Academic (Batch 6), the delegation of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Universitas Djuanda (UNIDA), conducted a courtesy visit and strategic academic activities at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Melaka Branch. The second day of the program, held on Wednesday (January 28, 2026), featured a comprehensive agenda including a Courtesy Visit, a seminar titled ASEAN Issues, and an Academic Workshop.
The activities at UiTM Melaka marked an important milestone in the implementation of the theme “Strengthening International Academic Networks in Malaysia.” The program facilitated in-depth discussions on contemporary issues in the Southeast Asian region, alongside workshops focusing on curriculum development and joint research methodologies.
Collaboration with UiTM Melaka was designed to significantly support the achievement of Higher Education Key Performance Indicators (IKU). The ASEAN Issues Seminar and the Academic Workshop contributed directly to IKU 6 (Study Programs Collaborating with World-Class Partners) and IKU 5 (Lecturers’ Work Utilized by Society or Receiving International Recognition).
Furthermore, the exchange of ideas within this forum reflects the implementation of the Impactful Campus Program, where higher education institutions actively formulate solutions to regional ASEAN challenges through cross-national academic perspectives.
The Dean of FISIP UNIDA, Dr. Hj. Rita Rahmawati, Dra., M.Si, emphasized the importance of the second day’s activities for institutional development.
“The visit to UiTM Melaka and the implementation of the ASEAN Issues Seminar provide highly strategic benefits. We expand our academic networks and align perspectives on global challenges faced by both countries. This opens opportunities for our lecturers and students to engage in more substantive academic discourse at the international level,” said Dr. Rita.
She further highlighted the practical benefits of the Academic Workshop.
“Through the Academic Workshop, we gained best practices in research and teaching management as implemented at UiTM. The main benefit is the enhancement of our lecturers’ capacity to develop research roadmaps that are relevant to ASEAN regional needs, while also enriching teaching materials that will be brought back and applied at home,” she added.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Public Administration Study Program at FISIP Universitas Djuanda, Faisal Tri Ramdani, S.Sos., M.A.P, assessed the activities as highly significant for study program development.
“For the Public Administration Study Program, the ASEAN Issues Seminar and Academic Workshop serve as concrete platforms for curriculum and academic governance benchmarking. This synergy ensures that the educational standards implemented at UNIDA are aligned with developments in public administration at the regional level, enabling our graduates to compete effectively in the ASEAN labor market,” Faisal emphasized.
Following the agenda in Melaka, the FISIP UNIDA delegation is scheduled to continue with Visiting Lectures and preparations toward the main conference, the ASEANACA International Conference (6th ICOSTELM 2026).
