BANGI, January 30, 2026 – Universitas Djuanda (UNIDA) continues to demonstrate its commitment as a globally competitive higher education institution. Led directly by the Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Dr. Aal Lukmanul Hakim, S.H., M.H., UNIDA brought dozens of faculty members and students on a strategic visit to Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) on the fourth day of the Tridarma International Visit & Academic (Batch 6) series, Friday (30/1).
The main focus of the visit by the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) UNIDA was participation in the seminar entitled “ASEAN Academic Issue & Research Collaboration” at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSK) UKM. This prestigious event was made possible through the strategic initiative of the President of the ASEAN Academic Association (ASEANACA), Prof. Dr. Tulus Suryanto, S.E., M.M., Akt., C.A., who facilitated Universitas Djuanda’s partnership with one of Malaysia’s leading research universities.
The active involvement of the FISIP UNIDA delegation in this forum serves as tangible evidence of the acceleration of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), particularly KPI 2 (Students Gaining Off-Campus Experience), KPI 3 (Faculty Engaged in Off-Campus Activities), and KPI 6 (Study Program Partnerships).
Beyond that, FISIP UNIDA utilized this momentum as part of the implementation of the Impactful Campus Program. By directly engaging in discussions on social and humanities issues at the ASEAN level, FISIP UNIDA ensures that its research and curriculum move beyond theory and contribute practical solutions to societal challenges across Southeast Asia.
The Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Dr. Hj. Rita Rahmawati, Dra., M.Si., emphasized that the collaboration with UKM represents a significant milestone for the faculty.
“This is a historic milestone for FISIP Universitas Djuanda. Bringing our delegation to FSSK UKM is not merely a routine visit, but a serious effort to align our academic quality with international standards. We aim to ensure that research outputs from FISIP UNIDA have broad impact and relevance to ASEAN issues. This synergy will strengthen FISIP UNIDA’s position as an excellent and globally recognized faculty,” Dr. Rita Rahmawati asserted.
Echoing the Dean’s statement, the Head of the Public Administration Study Program at FISIP Universitas Djuanda, Faisal Tri Ramdani, S.Sos., M.A.P., who attended as a representative of the delegation, highlighted the direct benefits of the activity for strengthening the study program.
“For us in the Public Administration Study Program, engaging with experts at UKM has been truly enlightening. We conducted in-depth benchmarking on how public policy issues are managed at the international level. The experience and networks we built today will serve as valuable capital in enhancing the quality of teaching and research publications in our program, ensuring that FISIP UNIDA students are well prepared to compete in the global job market,” Faisal explained.
This strategic initiative by Universitas Djuanda and FISIP is expected to generate sustainable long-term collaborations and further strengthen the institution’s reputation as a center of academic excellence at the regional level.
For the record, FISIP UNIDA previously visited FSSK UKM in 2023 as a return visit following UKM’s visit to Universitas Djuanda in 2022. The current visit marks the second official engagement and further reinforces the long-standing cooperative relationship between FISIP UNIDA and FSSK UKM. Notably, two FSSK faculty members—Prof. Dr. Novel Anak Lyndon and Prof. Syahizan—have served as visiting professors in the Master’s Program in Public Administration at FISIP Universitas Djuanda.
