Students of the 2023 batch of the Communication Science Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Djuanda, held an Islamic study session with Sheikh Hussein Jaber at Masjid Al-Amaliyah on Friday (May 22, 2026). The event was attended by students as well as members of the general public.
Carrying the theme “The Light of the Qur’an: A Guide for Direction and Peace,” the study session served as a platform for participants to deepen their understanding of Islam while strengthening their closeness to Allah SWT through a gathering of knowledge.
Representing the Dean of FISIP UNIDA, Head of the Communication Science Study Program at FISIP UNIDA, Robby Firliandoko, A.Md., S.I.Kom., M.Si, expressed his appreciation to everyone involved in organizing the event. He emphasized that the activity was part of the students’ learning process, particularly within the Event Organizer course.
“This activity serves as a real implementation of classroom learning, where students not only understand concepts but are also able to professionally manage events that create a positive impact on society,” he said.
On the same occasion, Chairman of the Al-Amaliyah Mosque Council (DKM), KH. Nana Sumarna, expressed hope that similar study sessions would continue to be held as part of efforts to expand Islamic outreach. He also reminded participants of the importance of spiritual readiness so that the knowledge shared could be well received and bring blessings.
“We hope activities like this can continue and become a means of strengthening the faith of the Muslim community. Equally important, every participant needs to prepare their heart so that the knowledge gained can be practiced in daily life,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the event chairman, Khalil Alkhairi, expressed hope that the study session would bring benefits and blessings to all attendees.
“We hope this activity will not merely become a ceremonial event, but truly provide a positive impact and serve as a reminder for all of us to continue drawing closer to Allah SWT,” he said.
In his sermon, Sheikh Hussein Jaber emphasized that gatherings of knowledge are among the paths to becoming closer to Allah SWT. He explained that a proper understanding of religion can help individuals face various challenges in life.
“If we are able to improve our understanding, we will be able to improve our problems,” he said.
He added that closeness to Allah SWT is the main key to finding solutions in life.
“There is no solution for mankind except by returning to Allah,” he stated.
One of the participants, Inaya Najwa, admitted that she gained a meaningful spiritual experience from the event. According to her, the study session served as a reminder to continuously improve oneself and strengthen enthusiasm in worship.
The event concluded with a collective prayer led by Sheikh Hussein Jaber, followed by the presentation of certificates and a group photo session with the committee and participants.
