Students of the Communication Science Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Universitas Djuanda (UNIDA) held a child self-protection counseling activity in Kampung Mongol Pakuan, Bogor City, on Saturday (20/12/2025).
The activity, initiated by Counseling Group 3 of the 2023 cohort, carried the theme “My Body Is Safe, I Am Valuable” and was attended by 51 children from the surrounding community.
The counseling focused on introducing body awareness, understanding personal boundaries, and encouraging children to protect themselves and express feelings of discomfort to trusted adults.
The head of the organizing committee, Moch Daffa, said that the activity aimed to equip children with a basic understanding of the importance of self-protection from an early age. It is expected to increase children’s awareness in Kampung Mongol Pakuan of the importance of self-protection and their right to feel safe.
“We want children to understand that their bodies are valuable and must be protected. Through this education, children are expected to have the courage to speak up when they feel unsafe,” Daffa said.
The material was delivered through simple explanations, educational games, and direct interaction between the students and participants. Throughout the activity, the children showed enthusiasm in taking part in the program and actively responding to questions.
One of the participants, Aulia, said she was happy to join the activity because it was easy to understand and provided new knowledge.
“Now I know that my body is valuable and that no one is allowed to touch it carelessly. If someone makes me feel scared or uncomfortable, I have to be brave and tell my parents or my teacher,” she said.
