The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Universitas Djuanda (UNIDA) has once again achieved a proud accomplishment. The team of lecturers and students from the Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata/KKN) in Kuta Village, Megamendung District, Bogor Regency, successfully received the Favorite Village Innovation Ambassador award at the 2025 Bogor Regency Regional Innovation Expo. The award was presented as part of the Innovation Culture series of events on Thursday (11/12/2025) at the Amphitheater of Bappedalitbang, Bogor Regency.
The award was granted for an innovation entitled “One Small Hole, a Million Benefits: Optimizing Biopore Technology for a Sustainable Environment,” which was assessed as delivering tangible benefits to rural communities in efforts to preserve the environment and manage natural resources sustainably.
The Dean of FISIP UNIDA, Dr. Hj. Rita Rahmawati, M.Si, expressed her appreciation and gratitude for the achievement attained by the supervising lecturers and the KKN student team. According to her, this recognition serves as concrete evidence of FISIP Universitas Djuanda’s contribution to fostering innovation based on community service through KKN programs oriented toward practical solutions to village-level challenges.
“This achievement demonstrates that collaboration between lecturers and students can produce innovations with direct impact on village communities. FISIP UNIDA will continue to encourage community service initiatives oriented toward sustainability and empowerment,” she stated.
Meanwhile, the Field Supervising Lecturer (DPL), Dede Syahrudin, S.A.P., M.A.P, explained that the biopore innovation developed was the result of an intensive mentoring process and the active involvement of both students and village residents, from the planning stage through implementation.
“This program was designed so that students are present not merely as activity implementers, but as facilitators of change within the village. Community involvement is the key to the success of this biopore innovation, ensuring that its benefits can be sustained over time,” he explained.
Dede Syahrudin, S.A.P., M.A.P further added that through the participatory development of the biopore innovation, the KKN team in Kuta Village successfully encouraged the community to take an active role in environmental conservation, improving soil absorption capacity, and supporting local ecosystem resilience.
“This innovation aligns with UNIDA’s commitment to supporting sustainable development and strengthening the role of higher education institutions within society,” he concluded.
