Universitas Djuanda (UNIDA) and Fatoni University, Thailand, have further strengthened their international collaboration through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Memorandum of Agreement (MoA), and Implementation Arrangement (IA) on Wednesday, July 16, 2025.
The signing ceremony took place at the Fatoni University Council Building in Thailand and was attended by leaders of both institutions, structural officials, lecturers, and representatives from each university’s Office of International Affairs.
The MoU was officially signed by UNIDA Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hj. R. Siti Pupu Fauziah, M.Pd.I, and Fatoni University’s Senior Vice Rector, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmad Omar Japakia. This event marks a strategic step in strengthening collaboration in the fields of education, research, and community service, which have been established since 2017.
Through this partnership, both universities have agreed to develop various collaborative programs, including student and faculty exchanges, joint research and collaborative scientific publications, the organization of international seminars and joint workshops, the development of internationally and multiculturally based curricula, and international-scale community service programs.
In his remarks, Fatoni University’s Senior Vice Rector, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmad Omar Japakia, welcomed the UNIDA delegation and expressed his enthusiasm. He emphasized the importance of synergy between universities in facing global challenges in the digital era and within multicultural societies.
“We believe this collaboration will provide long-term benefits for both institutions, especially in enriching international experiences for students and academic staff,” he stated.
Meanwhile, representing UNIDA, Dr. Hj. Rita Rahmawati, Dra., M.Si, Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), expressed her appreciation for the warm welcome from Fatoni University.
“This MoU signing is a renewal of the partnership that has been in place since 2017. It is a significant step in strengthening international networks and creating academic synergies that benefit lecturers, students, and the community,” she said.
In addition to the MoU, MoA documents were also signed between the UNIDA Graduate School and Fatoni University Graduate School, as well as between UNIDA’s FISIP and Fatoni University’s Faculty of Arts and Social Science.
This activity is part of UNIDA's commitment to expanding international partnership networks as an effort to become a globally recognized university. The collaboration also supports the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) policy with a cross-cultural and international approach.
