Dean of FISIPKOM UNIDA Conveys the Role of Women in Era 4.0 as a Studium Generale Speaker in Malaysia

Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences and Computer Science (FISIPKOM) of Djuanda University (UNIDA) Dr. (Cand) Ginung Pratidina, M.Si was appointed as one of the speakers in an activity entitled Studium Generale and Community Service with the theme "Community Development" organized by Kolej Uniti, Negeri Sembilan Malaysia, on Tuesday (13/6/2023). In her presentation, Dr. (Cand) Ginung Pratidina, M.Si conveyed related to the Role of Women in Development in Era 4.0, which is the result of Research and Community Service conducted with other UNIDA FISIPKOM Lecturers namely Maria Fitriah, S.Sos., M.Si, Cecep Wahyudin, M.A.P, Afmi Apriliani, M.A.P and Muhamad Encep, S.Kom, MTI., MTA in Kabandungan Village, West Java. Dr. (Cand) Ginung Pratidina, M.Si explained that the global phenomenon has changed many things, especially in the way we live, work and interact with nature. "But most importantly and we need to know, these developments can also reduce the dependence of rural communities on forest encroachment as the main source of livelihood. So villagers need to be given new skills to have new patterns of livelihood. There is one interesting thing that we found that it turns out that women have enormous potential to develop the economic potential of the family both as workers, entrepreneurs and play a role in creative technology," she said in front of Kolej Uniti Students, Negeri Sembilan Malaysia. Dr. (Cand) Ginung Pratidina, M.Si also shared that Kabandungan Village in Sukabumi Regency, West Java, has agricultural and tourism potential to be developed. Therefore, seeing these problems and potentials, lecturers and students of UNIDA's FISIPKOM have conducted various trainings to further support the development of the role of women in Kabandungan Village. "We from the Public Administration, Communication Science and Computer Science study programs conducted training related to the introduction of local potential so that women there can better understand the local potential that is owned and can be developed. In addition, we also provide marketing training and digitalization of product promotion," she explained. Finally, Dr. (Cand) Ginung Pratidina, M.Si said that the conditions and case studies of women in Kabandungan Village could also occur in Malaysia, so she encouraged Malaysian students to become agents of change to have an impact and develop community groups through creative economic development. For information, this Studium Generale and Community Service activity is the implementation of cooperation between UNIDA and Kolej Uniti, Negeri Sembilan Malaysia.
