KUALA LUMPUR, January 29, 2026 – The delegation of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Djuanda (UNIDA) continues to strengthen its internationalization efforts on the third day of the Tridarma International Visit & Academic Program (Batch 6). On Thursday (29/1), the FISIP UNIDA delegation actively participated in the prestigious 6th International Conference on Sustainability in Technological, Environment, Digital Innovation, and Governance for Global Development, held at the Grand Hall, Tabung Haji Tower & Universiti Geomatika Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur.
At this forum, which is part of the ASEANACA International Conference (6th ICOSTELM 2026), FISIP UNIDA played a central role. The Head of the Public Administration Study Program, Faisal Tri Ramdani, S.Sos., M.A.P., served as both Presenter and Session Chair. He presented a strategic research paper titled “Smart Environment Research in Smart Cities: And The Sustainable Development Goals,” examining the intersection between smart city technology and sustainable development targets.
The participation of the FISIP UNIDA delegation in this international conference represents a concrete achievement of the Higher Education Key Performance Indicators (IKU), particularly IKU 3 (Lecturers Engaging in Activities Outside Campus) and IKU 5 (Lecturers’ Work Receiving International Recognition). The research theme on integrating Smart Environment within Smart Cities reinforces FISIP UNIDA’s position as part of the Impactful Campus Program. The institution demonstrates its commitment to delivering research-based academic solutions to critical global issues, particularly environmental sustainability in the digital era.
The Dean of FISIP UNIDA, Dr. Hj. Rita Rahmawati, Dra., M.Si., expressed her pride in the faculty delegation’s active participation in the international forum.
“Our participation at the Grand Hall of Tabung Haji Tower today affirms that FISIP UNIDA is ready to compete at the global level. When our lecturer is entrusted to serve as a session chair and present research before an international audience, it serves as concrete evidence of our growing academic reputation. This aligns with our broader mission to strengthen Malaysia–Indonesia academic networks, which is the central theme of our visit,” she stated.
Dr. Rita also emphasized the importance of Indonesian scholars’ contributions to the forum.
“Through this conference, we are not only learning but also contributing. The research presented on Smart Environment and the SDGs represents FISIP UNIDA’s response to future urban governance challenges. We aim to ensure that the public administration studies we develop can provide tangible impact on sustainable policy formulation, both at the national level and across the ASEAN region,” she affirmed.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Public Administration Study Program at FISIP UNIDA, Faisal Tri Ramdani, S.Sos., M.A.P., elaborated on the urgency of the topic he presented.
“As a presenter, I addressed the issue of Smart Environment Research in Smart Cities and the Sustainable Development Goals because the integration of technology and the environment is key to the future of public administration. This research examines how the smart city concept must not focus solely on digitalization, but rather culminate in achieving the SDGs. Engaging in discussions with cross-country experts at this forum has provided validation and fresh perspectives to further refine the direction of our study program’s research,” he explained.
The Tridarma International Visit program will continue until January 31, 2026, with upcoming agendas focused on international community service initiatives.
