FISIP UNIDA Continues to Excel, Two Students Win First Place at the National UIKA Pencak Silat Championship 2025

Another proud achievement has been recorded by students of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Universitas Djuanda (UNIDA). Two FISIP students successfully claimed First Place in the Adult Individual Artistic (Seni Tunggal) Female and Male Categories at the National UIKA Pencak Silat Championship 2025, held on 5–7 December 2025 at the IPB Gymnasium Sports Hall, Bogor.

The outstanding students were Salwa Maisya Shafatunnisa, who won First Place in the Adult Individual Artistic Female Category, and Rijal Mahendra, who secured First Place in the Adult Individual Artistic Male Category.

Dean of FISIP UNIDA, Dr. Rita Rahmawati, Dra., M.Si, expressed her gratitude and appreciation for the achievements attained by both students. She emphasized that this accomplishment reflects the consistent performance of FISIP UNIDA students in achieving excellence through the development of academic and non-academic potential at the national level.

“Alhamdulillah, this achievement is a source of pride for the entire FISIP UNIDA community. The accomplishments of Salwa and Rijal demonstrate that FISIP students are capable of competing and excelling while upholding the values of sportsmanship. The faculty will continue to support the development of students’ interests and talents so they can achieve success in various fields,” she stated.

She further added that achievements in sports and martial arts, particularly pencak silat, play a strategic role in shaping students’ character to become disciplined, resilient, and outstanding individuals.

Meanwhile, Salwa Maisya Shafwatunnisa also expressed her gratitude and appreciation for the support provided by the faculty and the university throughout the preparation process and during the championship. She hopes that this achievement can inspire other students to confidently develop their potential and participate in various competitions at both national and international levels.

“I am deeply grateful for this achievement. I dedicate this success to FISIP and Universitas Djuanda. The support from faculty leaders, lecturers, and friends has been a great motivation for me to continue training and to give my best performance,” Salwa remarked.

For information, the National UIKA Pencak Silat Championship 2025 was organized by Universitas Ibn Khaldun (UIKA) Bogor as a platform for developing pencak silat athletes from student to open categories. The competition was attended by participants from various provinces across Indonesia, featuring several categories, including sparring (tanding), individual artistic (seni tunggal), doubles, and team events, across multiple age groups.
