FISIP UNIDA Holds Studium Generale and Establishes International Cooperation with Sapporo Gakuin University

The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Djuanda University (UNIDA) held a Studium Generale with the theme "Understanding the Mental Health Indicators of International Students," featuring Prof. Tomoyasu Sano from the Faculty of Psychology, Sapporo Gakuin University, Japan. The event took place in Classroom F.303 at FISIP UNIDA on Friday, March 21, 2025.

In addition to the Studium Generale, FISIP UNIDA also conducted the signing of an Implementation Arrangement (IA) with Sapporo Gakuin University. The Dean of FISIP UNIDA, Dr. Hj. Rita Rahmawati, M.Si, in her speech, emphasized the importance of understanding mental health, especially among students.

"We learn about mental health, and we always feel that we are healthy, but when we get our mental health checked, we might find that we have symptoms of mental illness. Therefore, today we will learn a great deal with Prof. Tomoyasu Sano," she said.

Dr. Hj. Rita Rahmawati, M.Si also expressed her hope that this collaboration will open opportunities for joint research and student exchange programs to Japan.

The Vice-Rector IV of UNIDA, Dr. Yudi Wahyudin, S.Pi., M.Si, who attended on behalf of the Rector of UNIDA, expressed his appreciation for the established collaboration.

"We hope that going forward, we can take advantage of opportunities for collaborative research, student mobility programs, and other forms of international cooperation. This is a great opportunity for us to strengthen bilateral relations through the academic world," he stated.

Meanwhile, Prof. Tomoyasu Sano, in his presentation, explained that mental health has diverse indicators, including emotional, psychological, and social aspects that influence how individuals think, feel, and behave in their daily lives.

"Understanding these indicators is a crucial first step in maintaining mental health," he remarked.
