A lecturer in Communication Science at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Universitas Djuanda (UNIDA), Robby Firliandoko, participated as a speaker and facilitator in the Community Business Potential Mapping activity in Bojongrangkas Village, Ciampea District, Bogor Regency, on Friday, 19 December 2025.

During the activity, participants received material on Design Thinking as the main approach to mapping problems and formulating innovative solutions for village business actors. The material emphasized the process of empathy, problem identification, idea development, and the formulation of solutions relevant to field conditions.

Robby Firliandoko explained that the Design Thinking approach through group discussions was carried out so that all participants could develop empathy in exploring issues and problems, and that participants from diverse backgrounds could contribute different and interesting insights.

“I positioned myself as a facilitator, facilitating fellow participants consisting of artisans, youth, entrepreneurs, PKK women, and the village government to explore potential through group discussions. It turned out that the results were very interesting,” said Robby, who also serves as the Executive Director of the Bogor Regency Creative Economy Committee (Kabekraf).

The activity received full support from the Head of Bojongrangkas Village, Iding Habudin, who expressed his appreciation for the initiative of Karang Taruna in encouraging the development of village potential in a structured and sustainable manner.

Karang Taruna Dharma Bakti of Bojongrangkas Village, Ciampea District, Bogor Regency, organized the Village Potential Mapping activity as an effort to explore and optimize the village’s local economic potential, particularly in the bag industry sector, which includes information on the number of workshops, artisans, and production capacity.

The Vice Chairperson of Karang Taruna Bojongrangkas Village, Yuriidul Izzata, stated that the activity aimed to map the regional potential of Bojongrangkas Village through the identification of the bag industry sector, including the number of workshops, artisans, and production capacity, so that it could serve as a basis for future village economic development.

“Since I was a child, I remember that there have already been many bag workshops in my village, and now I see the addition of shops and even wholesalers of bag-making tools and raw materials, which indicates that the bag business in Bojongrangkas Village continues to grow,” he explained.

One of the participants, Hari Wiryawan, expressed that the activity had a positive impact on business actors.

“This activity provides a lot of knowledge and solutions to the problems faced by bag artisan business actors in Bojongrangkas Village,” he said.

Through this activity, Karang Taruna Dharma Bakti hopes that the results of the village potential mapping can serve as an initial foundation for designing community empowerment programs that are more targeted and oriented toward improving the welfare of residents of Bojongrangkas Village, Ciampea District, Bogor Regency.

Several recommendations for the development of community-based local economic enterprises in Bojongrangkas Village include the establishment of a communication forum for bag artisans and entrepreneurs, training and capacity building in management and branding, as well as the development of a gallery and access to capital support.
