The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Djuanda University (UNIDA) continues to reinforce its commitment to cultivating student leaders with integrity through the Sarasehan and Basic Student Leadership Training (SS-LDKM) FISIP 2026. Carrying the theme “Fostering Progressive, Adaptive, and Highly Ethical Student Leadership in FISIP,” the program was held on Saturday–Sunday, April 11–12, 2026, at Villa Situ Jampang, Megamendung, Bogor Regency.

Representing the Dean of FISIP UNIDA, the Vice Dean I of FISIP UNIDA, Dr. Saprudin, M.Si, officially opened the event. In his remarks, he emphasized that strengthening students’ leadership capacity is an essential part of the educational process at FISIP.

Dr. Saprudin stated that students play a strategic role in carrying out the tridharma of higher education, which includes education, research, and community service. Through the SS-LDKM program, students are encouraged to develop leadership competencies aligned with academic values and community engagement.

“Students have the responsibility to carry out the tridharma of higher education—education, research, and community service. This activity is part of strengthening the tridharma, particularly in implementing community service through the development of student leadership capacity,” he explained.

Furthermore, this initiative also serves as a strategic effort by FISIP UNIDA to shape student character that excels academically while possessing leadership abilities that are adaptive to social dynamics.

To enrich participants’ insights, SS-LDKM FISIP 2026 featured various speakers from academic and organizational practitioner backgrounds. Faisal Tri Ramdani, S.Sos., M.Si, a FISIP UNIDA lecturer and Head of the Promotion and New Student Admissions Bureau, highlighted the importance of building relationships during university years.

“Relationships are crucial because we never know who may become a gateway to our opportunities in the future. The broader the network we have, the greater the chances for growth,” he explained.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Communication Science Study Program at FISIP UNIDA, Robby Firliandoko, S.I.Kom., M.Si, emphasized the importance of communication skills in leadership.

“Leaders are those who master the art of speaking. However, to become a good speaker, a leader must first be a good listener,” he stated.

The program also featured speakers from student circles and external organizations, including representatives of the Association of Social and Political Science Students (ILMISPI) as well as leaders of Student Executive Bodies from other universities.

In addition to the main sessions, SS-LDKM FISIP 2026 included supporting activities such as art appreciation, alumni sharing sessions, and action management training. The entire series of activities was designed to foster comprehensive, progressive, and integrity-driven leadership among FISIP students.
