Last Updated: 1 week ago

Students of the Communication Science Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Djuanda University (UNIDA), once again achieved national recognition through the National Seminar Poster Competition themed “Young Leadership For Sustainable Future: Young Leadership Responding to the Challenges of Crisis and Sustainable Development” organized by Universitas Pamulang.

The winners were announced on Monday, May 25, 2026, at the 8th Floor Darsono Auditorium, Pamulang University Victory Campus, South Tangerang. The competition was attended by students from various universities across Indonesia and focused on the role of young leadership in addressing environmental crises and sustainable development challenges.

In the competition, Siti Maspupah Apriliani won 2nd Place, Nazirah Naswa secured 3rd Place, while Ihsan Hadi Surya received the Best Visual Communication award.

Dean of FISIP UNIDA, Rita Rahmawati, expressed appreciation for the students’ achievements. According to her, the accomplishment demonstrates the ability of FISIP UNIDA students to compete and present creative works at the national level.

“This achievement is expected to motivate other students to continue creating, achieving, and confidently showing their best potential,” she stated.

Siti Maspupah Apriliani explained that the idea behind her poster was inspired by the increasingly evident environmental crisis occurring today. She believes that young people play an important role as agents of change and need to actively participate in addressing environmental issues.

During the creative process, she sought to combine strong visual elements with persuasive messages so that the work could attract attention while effectively conveying meaning to the audience. The selection of colors, illustrations, and message composition was designed to reinforce the themes of young leadership and sustainability.

“The biggest challenge was how to present a serious environmental issue in a visual form that is simple, appealing, and easy to understand,” she explained.

Through her work, Maspupah hopes that young people will become more aware of the importance of caring for the environment and the future.

“Change can begin with awareness and small actions taken by young people to care for the environment and the future,” she emphasized.

Meanwhile, Nazirah Naswa expressed gratitude for the achievement. She said that the competition provided valuable experience and learning opportunities in developing creative ideas and conveying messages through visual design.

“I hope the works we presented can inspire young people to care more about environmental issues and to bravely express their ideas through creative works,” she said.

Ihsan Hadi Surya also stated that receiving the Best Visual Communication award has motivated him to continue developing his skills in visual communication design and digital creativity.

“This award encourages me to keep learning, growing, and creating visual works that are not only attractive but also meaningful,” he remarked.

He also hopes that his work can serve as a reminder that young people have a major role in shaping the direction of change in the future.
