The Directorate General (Ditjen) of Regional Autonomy (Otda) of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) created a Metaverse-based service called Kovi Otda or Virtual Consultation on Regional Autonomy. The Metaverse-based technological innovation is claimed to be able to reduce the potential for corruption within the local government (Pemda). The Metaverse-based service can be accessed through www.kovi.otda.kemendagri.go.id. The Ministry of Home Affairs will provide an account to the Regional Government to access the service. Later, LGs can consult with the central government through a three-dimensional display. However, the launch of the service received great resistance from the community because it was considered too modern and contradictory to the implementation of public services that are still carried out conventionally.
